The Hebrew Shelter Home provides emergency housing in a five bedroom kosher home in a suburban location for Jewish women and children escaping domestic violence or facing imminent homelessness.
Safety and Security
The shelter provides a confidential, secure environment, ensuring access to kosher meals, addressing immediate physical needs. Children have access to secure indoor and outdoor play areas.
Financial Empowerment
Clients receive help with budgeting, financial planning and employment assistance, crucial for building independence and long-term security.
Emotional Support and Healing
Observance of weekly Shabbat and Jewish holidays fosters a sense of community within the shelter that provides emotional support, reducing feelings of isolation and creating connections with others who have similar experiences.
Education and Life Skills Development
Guidance in finding long-term housing and continuous support services assist survivors and homeless women and children gain the skills and resources needed for independent living.
This holistic approach not only helps survivors escape abusive situations but also supports each client in rebuilding their lives with dignity and strength.
